Privacy Policy

Data handled only in anonymized form for analysis and to improve the service. It contains no personal identifiers such as your name, email, or the answers you type yourself.

• Target-app use — when (time and day), how long (per session and daily total), and how often (intervals and rapid repeat opens) you open the apps you've chosen
• Intervention records — your Q1·Q2 choices, how long you spend on each step, whether you switched away, and how your mood shifts within a single flow
• Phone-use context — total screen time, number of unlocks, and the times of day you're active (including late night). This is aggregate context that helps us understand your target-app use within the whole; we do not know which other apps you use.
• App settings — number of target apps, and so on
• Statistics nownow computes — the figures shown to you, such as switch rate, most-opened apps, and time reclaimed
• Reports — when you request a report, the report type and language you choose, and the ratings and comments you leave on each sentence. After a request, the operator writes the report from the anonymized records above and sends it to you. The report text is kept on the server and on your device.
• Notification token — a device value used to let you know when a report has arrived.

The answers you type yourself in Q1 are stored on your device only and never leave it.

Feedback you choose to send via Settings → “Send Feedback” — your message plus non-identifying info (app version, device model) — is collected anonymously to improve the app. It includes no name, email, account, or anything that identifies who sent it.

Beta sign-up happens by email (contact@nownowlife.com). The address you write from is used only to send your store invite (Google Play or the App Store) and to reply to you; it is kept separately from the app data described above and cannot be linked to it. Inside the app, you are still never asked for an email or a name.

To detect the moment a target app you've chosen is launched, so it can show the conscious-intervention screen.

Through the Accessibility Service, nownow does not read or collect screen content, the text you type, passwords, or messages. It only observes which app has come to the foreground.

Used only to run features you've turned on yourself, such as screen lock, and you can revoke it any time in settings.

• Display over other apps — to show the intervention screen on top of other apps
• Usage access — to read usage statistics such as total screen time (we see only totals, not which individual apps you use)
• Notifications — to send beta surveys, notices, and report arrivals

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.

The information is used to provide the conscious intervention, personal statistics for you, and to improve the service and develop AI report and insight features. As we develop and provide these AI features, anonymized data is processed by a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI and Anthropic); if we add other providers, we will reflect that on this page. Even then, no personal identifiers or the answers you type are sent.

What nownow sends is anonymized, aggregate data, and OpenAI uses it only to answer nownow's request. Under the OpenAI API terms it is never used to train models. The processing happens on OpenAI servers in the United States.

During the beta, reports are written by the operator with Anthropic's AI (Claude) and reviewed before they are sent to you. The anonymized records needed to write a report are processed on Anthropic servers in the United States. They include no personal identifiers such as a name or email, and none of the answers you type.

We do not sell information, show no ads, and use no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Transmission is protected with encryption (HTTPS). Anonymized server data is kept only for as long as needed for analysis and AI development, and is deleted once no longer needed.

Data on your device is removed when you uninstall. To request deletion of anonymized server data or your reports, email contact@nownowlife.com.
